FAQs
1. Do I need a special driver´s license to rent a campervan in Chile?
In most cases, a regular valid driver's license is enough to drive our campervans in chile. As international travelers, you should also bring your passport and, when possible, you should also bring your passport and, when available, an international drive permit.
2. Can I travel to Patagonia with Malu Campers vans?
Yes. Patagonia and carretera Austral are amazing destinations in Chile to experience a campervan roadtrip. Our campers are designed to drive long distances and outdoor adventures along southern Chile.
3. Can I cross from Chile to Argentina?
During the high season from November to March it is possible, however during the low season from April to September due to risk, safety and possible route closures, it should be reviewed
4. Where Do I pick up and drop off the campervans?
Malu Campers is based in Viña del Mar close to Santiago and Valparaiso, making it a great starting point for a roadtrip along Chile.
Depending on availability and planning on your trip, we also may plan a pick up or drop off in other cities across Chile. In case of such a pickup/drop off, a relocation fee may apply and will be included in the quotation.
5. Is insurance included?
Yes. All rentals offer mandatory insurance coverage. More informacion about the coverage, conditions and security deposit are provided before every trip.
6. Do you provide roadside assistance?
Yes. We support you along your trip, and will help coordinate roadside assistance if necessary, depending on the location and situation.
7- Is there a security deposit?
Yes. Security deposit is required. The amount is 2000 USD
8. Do you help travelers plan their roadtrip?
Yes we do. We are always happy to help travelers with route ideas, travel and recommendations based on the season, destination and travel style.
